About the fake text message generator
Make a text message conversation between two people and download it as phone-size 9:16 PNG images — the format used for chat-story videos on YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Reels. Set both names, write the messages, put each one on the left or right, add timestamps if you want them and pick a light or dark theme. Long chats continue onto extra images automatically, and a message is never cut between two images.
How to use it
- Type the other person's name (shown at the top, messages on the left) and your name (messages on the right).
- Edit the messages; tap the sender button to swap a message's side, and use the arrows to reorder.
- Add messages with the "From …" buttons and remove any with the bin icon.
- Tick Timestamps to add a time above any message, and choose Light or Dark.
- Download each 1080×1920 PNG from the preview.
Questions
- How do I make a fake text conversation for a video?
- Write the chat here, download the images, and place them in your editor one after another. Each image is 1080×1920, the native size for vertical video, so it fills the frame without cropping.
- Why did my chat turn into several images?
- One phone screen only holds so many bubbles. When the next message would not fit, it starts a new image, so you can show the conversation screen by screen.
- Can I make it look like a dark-mode phone?
- Yes — choose Dark for a black background with dark grey incoming bubbles. Light gives a white background with light grey incoming bubbles. Your own messages are blue in both.
- Is it okay to post fake text conversations?
- Chat stories are a popular fiction format. Don't use them to impersonate real people or pass off an invented conversation as genuine evidence; label it as a story where that could mislead.
