About the qr code generator

Turn a URL or any text into a QR code. Choose the code and background colours, the error correction level and the download size, then save it as PNG or SVG. The code updates as you type, and it is static: the content is encoded directly in the image, so there is no redirect that can expire.

How to use it

  1. Paste a URL or type any text into Content; the preview updates as you type.
  2. Set the QR colour and background colour.
  3. Choose an error correction level.
  4. Pick a download size from 128x128 to 1024x1024.
  5. Scan the preview with your phone to test it, then press Download PNG or Download SVG.

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static codes that contain your content directly, so they keep working as long as the URL they point to does.
Which QR code error correction level should I use?
Low recovers about 7% of a damaged code, Medium 15%, Quartile 25% and High 30%. Use Medium for screens and clean prints; use High for small, outdoor or logo-covered codes, at the cost of a denser pattern.
Should I download a QR code as PNG or SVG?
SVG is vector and scales to any print size without blurring. PNG works everywhere else; pick 1024x1024 if it might be printed.
Can I change the colours of a QR code?
Yes, but keep a dark code on a light background with strong contrast. Inverted or low-contrast codes fail to scan on many phones.
