About the email deliverability
Check a domain's SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, the three DNS records that decide whether your welcome emails, password resets and magic links reach the inbox or land in spam. Paste a domain, email address or URL and get a score out of 100, what each record says, and a copyable fix for anything missing. Your MX records are listed too.
How to use it
- Enter your domain, an email address on it, or a URL.
- Press Check and wait for the report.
- Read each record's status: green passes, amber is a warning, red is missing or broken.
- Copy any suggested record into your DNS provider, then check again once it has propagated.
Questions
- How do I check if my SPF record is correct?
- Enter your domain and look at the SPF row. A domain must have exactly one TXT record starting with v=spf1, and it should stay within SPF's limit of 10 DNS lookups or receivers treat it as an error.
- Why can't it find my DKIM record?
- DKIM records live under a selector name chosen by your email provider, and DNS has no way to list them. The checker tries the selectors common providers use, so a miss can mean your provider uses a different one.
- Do I need DMARC?
- Since 2024, Gmail and Yahoo require a DMARC record from bulk senders, and it helps every sender's deliverability. A record at _dmarc.yourdomain.com with p=none is the usual starting point.
- How long do DNS changes take to show up?
- Often minutes, but up to the record's TTL, and occasionally longer, before resolvers see the new value. Check again later if a record you just added is not found.
